THE RAKES - the original PUNK band to smash into Auburn during the late seventies and into
the 80's. The Rakes went through a couple of phase changes. Stayed true to punk and weren't fazed by the new wave the swept
the continent. "No WAVE"! "Show us your sex pistols". The second incarnation of THE RAKES shared the stage with
Iggy Pop and Stevie Ray Vaughn.
These hard charges pounded out the originals Party System and What You Say. They also reinvented a couple of
covers Brand New Cadillac and I Fought The Law that are impossible to get out of your skull once you have had
them rattle your brain.
Eventually THE RAKES ran the guantlet of the fifth dimension "time" and a new sound revolved out of the ashes and gave
birth to Mr. Resistor & The Incapacitators.
